Giving toddlers and preschoolers an opportunity to thread with beads is an amazing way to develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and learn basic math concepts like sorting, patterning, counting and colours. 

In Montessori, wooden bead stringing is a preliminary activity for learning the practical skill of sewing.

Lace length is 13’’ with a wooden stopper at one end and dowel on the other.  Please note that in Canada, safety regulations state that young children should not engage with materials (ribbons, laces, etc.) longer than 22 cm (8.66") or a loop exceeding 44 cm (17.3") around.  Adult Supervision is Required.  

Size of different beads is max. 1.5’’
